How did you get involved?
I wanted to support Dave’s vision of a community music festival on the Rivendell site. I volunteered to sit on the committee for 2024 to help bring the idea into reality.
What were the highlights of 2024 or 2025 for you?
I would say 2024, seeing the Moss Troopers reform and play on the Glade Stage.
Maybe 2025 was the Spiral Dance in the closing ceremony. But there are so many others. On a personal level, playing the Folk Club with my band The Celandines and The Cumberland Arms with Quickbeam were big personal highlight in 2025.
What are you looking forward to for 2026?
The Brothers Gillespie, Lady Maisery, Steel Foxes. And the sessions spaces, which will be in The Den and The Cumberland Arms this year.
Any top tips for this year's visitors?
Go join a session or a workshop. Bring your instrument, a song, your dancing shoes.
What should people absolutely not miss?
Join the opening ceremony and stay to enjoy the closing ceremony; they are always magical moments. The Shanty Session is always an experience at The Cumberland Arms.
One thing people should bring with them.
We’ve been lucky with the weather in 2024 and 2025 but make sure you have your wet weather gear - just in case.
Anything else you'd like to add?
Just a huge thank you to everyone who supports the festival, all the stewards and the many, many volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes all year to bring Cumberlandia to life.
