How did you get involved?

I've been attending one of Dave Camlin's choirs (now Wild Chorus) since 2017, and have been increasingly involved with the local musical and creative community. When Dave floated the idea of Cumberlandia, I saw it as a wonderful opportunity to help create a celebration of the best of what it is to be human.

What were the highlights of 2024 or 2025 for you?

The highlights for me have been seeing the delight and joy in the people that attend Cumberlandia- our little temporary village- and feeling that I have played a part in that happening. Two specific highlights come to mind: seeing such delight in the people dancing to the Wierdstring Ceilidh, and being in the crowd of people dancing so joyfully to the extraordinary Moss Troopers.

What are you looking forward to for 2026?

I'm excited to see how new people will experience Cumberlandia, and to see how the experience might have developed for those that are returning. Just to be a part of that extraordinary bubble of joy for a few short days: there's always an abundance of magical moments.

Any top tips for this year's visitors?

Be brave. Cumberlandia is not like the outside world. It's safer, more open, more supportive and more joyful. If you notice you're stopping yourself from getting involved, take a breath, and don't let old stories get in the way of you expressing your joy.

What should people absolutely not miss?

Don't miss being present, wherever you find yourself over the weekend. Dance, sing, chat, hug, laugh, rest. Breathe in the fresh Rivendell air.

One thing people should bring with them.

Bring with you a smile for someone you've never met.

Anything else you'd like to add?

You are welcome in this space. I have a vision of Cumberlandia being a place where we can relax a little more into who we truly are. For softer hearts to see and celebrate the uniqueness and unity that we all are. From my heart to yours…
