Live Willow
Dome
Made by
Volunteer Work Parties
We've chosen a living willow sculpture this year as part of our theme of honouring the spirits of the land and the 'other/more than human' inhabitants of the Rivendell space. It’s still a babay and won’t be in use this year, but after it’s settled in and grown, we’re planning to use it in future years as a meditation space or a space for informal music sessions.
Willow artist Helen Elvin designed the dome, and these fantastic volunteers turned out on March 19th and 20th to plant and build it. Amazingly, the weather happened to be glorious, which didn’t entirely mitigate the mud… but doesn’t it look fabulous!
