Mouthful
4-piece a Cappella vocal group who make innovative, exciting and original music using only the human voice as an expertly-played and finely-tuned instrument. Bex Mather, Dave Camlin, Katherine Zeserson and Sharon Durant create and perform a diverse range of vocal material, with an exciting and accessible repertoire that ranges from Georgian to gospel, folk to funk, including jazz, country and outdoor Scandinavian ‘yoiking’ along the way. Be prepared to have your preconceptions about vocal music blown out of the water by powerful and exciting original work, and sophisticated and unusual arrangements…
Quickbeam
Quickbeam are four Cumbrian hedge-witches performing a capella folk and original songs with striking vocals.
Quickbeam, whose name harks back to the Old English term for the Rowan tree, is made up of four talented vocalists and musicians from Cumbria: Abigail Driver, Alison Scott, Arwen Heaton and Jessie McMeekin. Their repertoire features a blend of new arrangements of traditional and contemporary folk songs, as well as inventive original pieces, drawing inspiration from blues, gospel, folk and classical genres. Audiences are captivated by their haunting harmonies, powerful new compositions and uplifting anthems, all delivered with quirky humour and an authentic, approachable style.
Sing Owt!
Dave Camlin's award-winning, accomplished, fun and friendly non-auditioned choir was formed in 2006, when it was a project for the SoundWave music organisation which Dave founded. As the name suggests, we sing owt that takes our fancy, mainly from the global and local Folk traditions, and also jazz, rock / pop, gospel & more... Infectiously joyful, harmonically sweet, we’re a close-knit group who welcome new members and have a lot of fun together!
Wild Chorus
Wild Chorus is about connection: with each other; with our collective creativity; with audiences; with the natural world around us; freeing our voices to sing together in wild places! Inspired by the wildness of the natural world, Wild Chorus is a performance choir with an environmental outlook. Singing together in nature, we promote the importance of wild places for the biodiversity and health of our planet.
World Singing Day
Sing Together; Unite the World!
Sing from wherever you are. Each year on the 3rd Saturday in October, people all over the world gather in groups of all sizes in schools, pubs, parks, plazas and homes to sing and celebrate our common humanity. People of all ages, backgrounds and singing abilities can join in and sing. That includes you.
