You’d also be joining Cumbria’s newest music festival themed around our connection to place and the environment. Cumberlandia is run entirely by volunteers who want to celebrate the rich creative community based in West Cumbria.
What’s involved?
Being a friendly face for visitors and answering any questions.
Supporting, encouraging, and facilitating the different events and areas at the festival, including camping, litter picking, issuing wristbands, stewarding the stages.
Some basic management of equipment and ensuring experiences are carried out safely (depending on role).
Being part of a varied and enthusiastic team.
Being part of a team that may need to adapt and change in response to local needs, or changes to government guidelines e.g . Covid
What can you expect from us?
We want all our volunteers to feel welcome and to have an equally positive experience when volunteering with us.
So, volunteers will:
Be provided with the necessary induction, some equipment and reasonable adjustments to do this role well and safely.
Be offered a FREE weekend ticket to the festival including tent camping space if required (£20 contribution appreciated to bring a small van).
Be invited to join a Whats-App group to keep in touch with other stewards.
Have use of a dedicated volunteer steward’s space to make drinks and snacks.
Open, positive and enjoy being around lots of people
Passionate about music, creativity and the environment and enjoy inspiring others to have a great time.
Reasonably fit and healthy; as the role may involve some physical activity.
Keen to support Cumberlandia’s focus on making the festival inclusive to reach more diverse audiences.
Adaptable in your approach to suit different situations and audiences.
Able to get to Cumberlandia festival site.
This role will suit you if you are…
Take responsibility for playing a part in making the festival a success.
Respect and uphold Cumberlandia’s values whilst volunteering with us.
Commit to a minimum of 12 hours of volunteering, and avoid cancelling your shift unless it is an emergency.
Turn up on time for your shift.
Provide accurate handover information to people on the next shift.
Adhere to relevant policies and processes including safeguarding, health and safety, and equality and diversity.
