Welcome!
We are thrilled and excited to welcome you to the Cumberlandia festival in the mythical realm of Rivendell. The idea for the festival was born from an informal collective of local musicians wishing to have a means of celebrating our creative community, showcasing its talent and sharing its vibe with a host of premier performers from the contemporary folk world. We hope you enjoy the festival and feel part of this community. Enjoy the site whether you’re camping or travelling daily and enjoy being part of a wonderful celebration of local artistry. Be happy! The Cumberlandia Committee.
Welfare
Please respect the environment, other folks and yourselves. Be mindful of your needs and those of others and play your part in building something memorable. If you need anything, can’t find something or just need a chat, come and say hello. We'll be hanging out around the site, the Cafe/Info t or the Festival Office.
“When we make music, we make kin…”
Independent journalist Kate Relton has written a brilliant article about the Cumberlandia vision and what it means to bring a temporary community together for a weekend, united through music and music making. you can read it here.
Meet The Committee…
Cumberlandia is organised by a committee of volunteers - musicians, artists, craftspeople, hard-workers - whose ambition is simply to put on a memorable weekend to shine a spotlight on local culture.

Thanks also to our sponsor Rock ‘n’ Reel magazine, the UK’s foremost roots music publication (who just happen to be based in Cleator Moor). We appreciate your support and trust.
